The design was developed jointly with the Ministry of Heritage and Culture of Oman to define a space for cultural exchange and display Oman’s rich culture. The annual festival in Al Jenadriyah in Saudi Arabia offers visitors to experience the arts, foods, handcrafted products, and dance performances within a total area of 5,000 m2. The enclosed exhibition space makes for 1,500 m2 and represents architectural features such cultural landmarks as the Jabreen Castle, the Nizwa fort, Al Alam palace, etc. Since this project was designed by a committee, all steps of the design process were closely recorded and the project was revised according to the needs of the client. Regular meetings and presentations were a great tool to develop a design concept that fulfills the client’s criteria for the Sultanate’s culture festival grounds.
In conjunction with generating the design development phase, a fully client-coordinated schematic scheme is formed early in the project workshop phase.
